Volunteers who work a 4 hour shift at the sale shop at 3pm on presale night! A consignor who volunteers for a 4 hour shift will receive 65% of their consignment sales, a consignor who volunteers for two 4 hour shifts will receive 70% of their sales and our committee members will receive 80% of their sales!

Volunteers shop the Private Presale on Thursday, before consignors and a day before the public! We immensely appreciate all those who offer their time...thank you in advance! We know attending the Presale is well worth the effort!!

Shifts are available on a first come first serve basis. One volunteer pass is earned per 4 hour shift or non sale position (listed below). A volunteer pass entitles one person admittance to the pre sale. You may bring children under 13 without a pass.

Committee position: If you are interested in a position and have volunteered for at least two sales please email us for more information. Committee positons require a 16-18 hour commitment.

The 40+ Club:
This option is for those who really enjoy the sale and want to be more involved. You must be able to commit to working at least 40 hours during sale week. The 40+ Club volunteers can shop at 12pm on 4/15, before any other volunteer group! In addition, you will be able to choose one of these two options: Keep 100% of your sales from the April 2010 sale OR receive a $300 gift certificate to be used at the next sale. You will have to decide which option you want prior to the sale. If you are a member of the 40+ Club you will also receive give aways and chances in numerous raffles. If you are interested please do not attempt to schedule your hours online. Shifts for the 40+ club are not available in the public schedule. Space is limited and volunteers will be chosen based on experience. Contact us early if you are interested.

Are you interested in an early shopping pass or a higher consignment percent but aren't available during the sale week?

We understand that some of you may not be able to volunteer your time at the sale but would still like the benefits of working a 4-hour shift. There are a limited number of positions available that do not require you to be at the sale. They are available on a first come basis, considering everyone’s individual situation and the needs of the sale. We will do our best to accommodate everyone.

All volunteers requesting a volunteer position that is not during sale hours must complete a work order form to be eligible for the volunteer benefits. You must put in a total of 4 hours to qualify for the 5% bonus and presale pass. One shift outside of sale hours per person. A volunteer pass entitles one person admittance to the pre sale. You may bring children under 13 without a pass.

The following positions entitle you to an early shopping pass (3pm) and an extra 5% in your consignment check.

Flyer/Postcard Distribution - Flyers are distributed to daycare centers, preschools, children’s gyms, community and private bulletin boards (where allowed) and other locations throughout the area. At least 15 places. Must also place 2 yard signs.
Posting Yard Signs - We will supply signs and locations for signs to be placed the week before the sale. 15 signs.
Labeling/Stamping Postcards - we have 1500 post cards that need to be stamped and labeled. FULL
Put it on the Honey Do List! You can recruit your husband or a friend to provide the service or work a shift! You will receive full credit for his/her 4 hours. (Be sure to let us know of your substitution).

If you do not have 4 hours to give but would like to shop the Thursday night preview sale at 4pm, you can earn a presale pass by helping with the following (NOTE: these will not qualify consignors for the 5% bonus to their commission):

The following positions entitle you to an early shopping pass:

Meals for Volunteers – We will gladly accept a home cooked or take-out meal for volunteers during the public sale. Lunch on Friday and Saturday must be delivered before noon.
Place TKC Magnets on your Vehicle – Place 2 magnets on your vehicle 3-4 weeks before the sale until the last day of the sale. These magnets will not ruin your vehicle paint, just make sure that they area is clean before you place the magnet on. Magnets must be returned after the sale!! FULL
Sign Display – Do you live on or have access to a property located on a busy street? If you would be willing to post a The Kids Clothesline sale sign visible to passers by, you can earn an early shopping pass. Not all locations will qualify, please contact us with your available location (s).

Do you have a special talent or access to other resources that can help the sale? Here are some examples.

Newspaper, TV or Radio Coverage – Do you know someone “in the industry”? If so, recruit them to help publicize the sale or offer us “friend & family” advertising rates and receive a volunteer shift in exchange.
Restaurant or Catering – Own a restaurant or catering business or know someone who does? Earn a shift when you help us to feed our hungry volunteers.

Have another idea? Can you offer something else to help make the sale successful? Contact us with your idea and let’s see what we can work out!

If you volunteer for any of the above positons we are counting on you to follow through. In the event you do not fulfill your commitment, or find a comparable replacement, you will not be allowed to participate as a volunteer again or participate in any future pre sale. Please understand that these guidelines have been put in to place to maintain a high quality sale
